About
Killer Korp Games was started by me (Edgar Parente) way back when I was studying at Dawson College. I’ve always wanted to start my own video game company. Even back then I was working on a pretty interesting game design, with certain influences such as Fallout and Crusader. Many people ask why the name Killer Korp. Well I’m a big fan of Cyberpunk culture, so the name seems fitting, with KK being a possible very large corporation in a cyberpunk world. I also like the letter K. Well, those times have passed. I still have the company (yes it’s registered), but it’s not doing much.
I’ve worked as a programmer working on Dawn of Heroes at Wicked Studios (www.wickedstudios.com). It was great place to work. A very small dedicated team. And I think our game was impressive, and we did some pretty interesting things with the DS.
Unfortunately, Dawn of Heroes, didn’t sell as much as we would have liked, and the company stopped operations. From there I went to ODD1. A completely different direction for me as their business is mostly web, after one and a half years, I worked on five projects; some emcompassing multiple games. The casual and web market are not my particular cup of tea, so I’ve decided to start looking for something new.
I collected many games for about 8 years. I’ve decided to stop to prioritize in other parts of my life. including actually playing games instead of just letting them gather dust. My collection encompassed close to 1700 games. I think it’s entertaining to play older games. Some of those games still have plenty of value to them. It’s also important, I feel, for someone who is works in the industry to have amassed a lot of experience in design from having played many various games from different generations.
I’ve been working very hard on the challenges that David Perry has put up on his personal website (www.dperry.com). These challenges have mostly to do with design, and are very long and hard. I’m proud to say that I was the first to finish the first and second challenges. I’ve worked on the 3rd challenge for a while, but I’ve lost contact. Still looking to get back into it though.

Edgy – Katarak
